Recessed spotlights are the most common solution for plasterboard ceilings: tidy, discreet and even light. The first step is the cutout: the fixture diameter must match the hole prepared in the ceiling, or it will not sit flush.
Wattage and lumens set the brightness. For general light, count the whole room area; for accent, pick a narrower beam angle. A wide angle (100–120°) gives soft general light, a narrow one (24–38°) a directed accent.
Do not forget colour temperature: 3000K for warm relaxation zones, 4000K neutral for kitchens and work. For damp areas choose a higher IP rating. The Electrica Group catalogue has round and square, fixed and adjustable recessed models — pick by interior, and we will help you calculate the quantity, the "For Long Life" way.
